Public Health & Vaccinations

Recommended Vaccinations: No mandatory vaccinations required for most travellers. A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from or transiting through a yellow-fever-endemic country within 30 days of arrival in the Maldives.

Health Insurance: Travel health insurance is strongly recommended — medical facilities on resort atolls are extremely limited, and emergency medical evacuations to Malé or repatriation to India are very expensive.

Advisory: Advanced medical care is available only in Malé; individual resort islands have basic clinics and first-aid facilities only. Carry an adequate personal supply of prescription medications, as pharmacies outside Malé have very limited stock of branded or specialist drugs.

Data is verified against official consular sources.
